Artem Kovalenko's heart has been saved ❤️

Artemchyk is 8 years old. Since birth, life has been testing his strength.

Artem often gets colds and acute bronchitis, tires quickly, and finds it hard to endure physical exertion. In December of last year, during inpatient treatment, doctors discovered a congenital heart defect — an open arterial duct. Later, specialists at the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery confirmed the diagnosis. The boy needed an endovascular operation to close the heart defect with an occluder. Without this operation, the child's heart works under excessive strain, and the disease could lead to serious and unpredictable consequences in the future.

For Artem’s family, this diagnosis was a heavy trial, as gathering the necessary amount on their own proved difficult. His mother is forced to stay constantly by his side because of his frequent illnesses and is currently not working. His father serves in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Thanks to the charitable support of our partners, the company Identity Invest, Artem underwent an endovascular operation to close his heart defect.
