Saved heart for Maksym Kravets

Cheerful and lively Maksym from Vinnytsia region – only 2.5 years old. Since birth, doctors detected a congenital heart defect – an open arterial duct. The family hoped it would close on its own, but over time the boy’s condition worsened: shortness of breath, rapid heartbeat and frequent colds.

The only chance was to perform an endovascular operation to close the heart defect using an occluder. And on 9 September 2025 this operation took place at the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery – successfully!
