Tron Adelina

Adelina is not yet two years old, and she already urgently needs an operation to implant an occluder because she has a congenital heart defect. The little girl has already endured a lot: a difficult birth, six bouts of colds with temperatures up to 39 °C that were hard to bring down. Once, Adelina developed a purulent angina with a temperature over 40 °C, and for five days the doctor could not lower it below 38 °C despite antibiotics. Additional examinations of her heart and kidneys were ordered, and that’s how a heart defect was discovered in Adelina.

Adelinka has a congenital heart defect – an open arterial duct and an open oval window. After reading all the information about the disease and speaking with parents whose children have already overcome this problem, the Tron family came to Kyiv to the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery. Following a thorough examination, the doctors confirmed the diagnosis and reported that, unfortunately, without surgical intervention the defect will not close on its own and will only enlarge. This could later lead to heart failure in Adelinka.

The surgery itself is free, but the price of the heart implant shocked the young Tron family. All the savings they have amount to 10 000 UAH, and they cannot raise the 27 000 UAH on their own. Adelina needs an occluder, which will make the girl’s heart completely healthy. They have nothing to sell, as they own no property and rent an apartment in Kryvyi Rih. Her father earns a minimal salary. Her mother receives state assistance of 860 UAH per month and is currently on maternity leave. Grandparents also cannot help; they live in a village, survive only from their garden, and the girl’s father comes from a large, low‑income family.

Adelinka, like a little motor, is constantly running somewhere, loves to dance, begins to say her first words, kisses the people she likes… It becomes very scary when this little miracle stops in the middle of a game and rests with a tired expression in her eyes.

The family asks for help: “Please, help save our daughter, as she is the only meaning of our lives, and we beg for assistance! The situation forces us to turn to all caring people with hope that the goodness of your hearts will help the little heart of our Adelinka beat!”
