Seventeen‑year‑old Hannusia has had a disability since childhood – she was born, as they say, a “sunny child.” Hannusia has Down syndrome. A week after she was born, her parents were told that the girl has a congenital heart defect. But the doctors advised against operating right away, because for a “special” child it could be deadly. They recommended watching and waiting, as there was a chance the defect would close on its own. Every year Hannusia saw a cardiologist, and the doctors kept postponing the operation.

Unfortunately, the girl's condition was worsening. After that, the girl was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect – an open arterial duct – and doctors recommended closing the defect permanently with an occluder. For Hannusi, this is the most optimal and safest option. The only thing that worries the girl's mother is the cost of the implant. Why does this concern only the mother? Because Ani's dad left them, saying he could not love a sick child…
