12-year-old Viola urgently needs surgery to implant an intracardiac device (occluder) because she has a congenital heart defect—an open arterial duct. This defect was discovered by chance; Viola herself insisted on having a heart ultrasound, as she occasionally felt chest pains. Unfortunately, the premonition did not help the girl: a heart defect was found that must be closed with an expensive occluder.

If this isn’t done soon, the girl could develop heart failure in the near future. Her father cannot raise 74 900 UAH for the implant. By selling his old “Zigul” car and a few household items, he hopes to collect a total of 30 000 UAH, but has nowhere else to get the remaining amount. Letter from dad:

My daughter is 12 years old and is in the 7th grade. Until August 28 of this year I considered her completely healthy, with no complaints at all. Since I have chronic glomerulonephritis, I experienced chest pain and decided to have an ultrasound. My daughter also wanted to see a doctor for a check‑up because she occasionally felt a tingling sensation in her chest area. I didn’t object.

For more than three years we have been living with our daughter alone; I divorced my wife and Viola stayed with me. We are originally from the small town of Bobrynets in the Kirovohrad region. When we learned of our daughter's diagnosis, we went to Kropyvnytskyi to a treatment‑diagnostic center. After an ultrasound was performed, the doctor explained that Viola has a congenital heart defect – an open patent ductus arteriosus, and immediately referred us for a consultation with the regional pediatric cardiologist. Following the child's examination, cardiogram analysis and the ultrasound report, the doctor sent us to Kyiv to the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery. There the diagnosis was confirmed. The doctor explained that the child's condition is serious and that the ductus needs to be closed immediately.

I have been working for more than 12 years as a veterinary doctor at the Bobrynetska State Veterinary Medicine Hospital. Unfortunately, my salary is not enough to save up funds, so quickly gathering such a large amount to purchase an occluder is beyond my means. My ex‑wife has not worked for three months and does not have such funds either. I hope to obtain money from selling a car and household items. However, that is only 30 000 UAH, and there is nowhere to get the rest of the sum. I am appealing to all caring people for help to raise the necessary amount to purchase an occluder for the treatment and future healthy life of my daughter!
