Our help is needed for a wonderful sunny girl Vikusya from Kropyvnytskyi. The 3‑year‑old Vikusya has a congenital heart defect – an open arterial duct. She was born with Down syndrome and has become the true sunny part of her whole family. Her smile, openness and bright eyes always bring a smile to our faces. However, the heart defect that was detected at birth does not allow Vikusya to play, run, or be a normal child. She often gets sick, tires very quickly, and constantly tells her mother that something hurts in her chest. This is a heart defect that must be corrected, because it simply does not let this little sunshine live.

A heart defect must be corrected urgently, because a girl's life depends on it. The heart surgery that can fix the atrial septal defect is performed at the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery free of charge, but it requires purchasing a cardiac implant that will help Vikusi’s heart beat with new strength. For an ordinary Ukrainian family, where the mother stays at home caring for a child with a disability, and the father works at a factory, the amount of 78 110 UAH is beyond their reach. We appeal to all caring people: “Help save Vikusi’s heart!” The girl’s family is very ordinary, Ukrainian. Vikusi also has an older 12‑year‑old brother. The father works at a factory as a paver, constantly trying to earn a penny. Mother stays at home with the daughter, because the little one is constantly ill. For this family, saving their daughter’s heart is a great luxury, an unattainable dream. That is why they turn to all caring people with a request to save Vikusi’s life!
