Milani is only 2 years and 7 months old, yet she already needs an urgent heart operation. The child has a congenital heart defect – an atrial septal defect. The opening in her little heart measures 10 mm. This is a very large defect that must be corrected. It can be repaired endovascularly, without opening the chest. However, a heart implant costing almost 100 thousand UAH is required. For an ordinary Ukrainian family, this is an unaffordable sum. That is why they are reaching out to all caring people, asking them to save their daughter’s life.

Milana is an extraordinarily beautiful girl, bright and kind. She doesn’t understand why she can’t run, jump, or play with other kids. She always cries a lot when she has to undergo another examination. She knows something is happening, but how can you explain to such a small child that her little heart is sick, that she is at risk? It’s a huge terror for the parents.

When the doctors delivered the frightening news that surgery would be needed very soon, Milana’s parents fell into despair. The family is young, the mother is on maternity leave, spending 24/7 with her child and doing everything to keep Milanka healthy and not overly tired. The father was laid off in the fall from a company that didn’t survive the quarantine restrictions. He now works at a new job, but his salary won’t be enough to save up for his daughter’s operation for several years. Fortunately, there is a charitable foundation and caring people who can save the child’s life.
