A five‑year‑old girl, Dasha, urgently needs surgery to implant an intracardiac device (a spiral) because she has a congenital heart defect. Doctors had hoped the defect might close on its own without surgical intervention. Every six months, Darinka underwent a medical commission. However, after a thorough examination, the doctors confirmed the diagnosis and said that, unfortunately, the defect will not close on its own without surgery and will enlarge. This is life‑threatening for Dasha.
