Ksenia Moskalenko's heart has been saved ❤️

For us it was a very difficult story, because an 8.5‑month‑old girl was brought to Amosov for an emergency heart operation, her condition was serious, and the parents had no money to purchase a cardiac implant. Time was running fast and we needed to find 214 500 UAH for the coinduit. We placed an urgent collection on the Ukrainian Charity Exchange website and within a few days the project was funded, the implant purchased, and, in an emergency manner, the doctors at Amosov performed a successful operation!

Ksenia’s trials began right after she was born. After just two hours in the world, the baby’s whole body started turning blue, and she was rushed to intensive care. The conclusion was that she wasn’t getting enough oxygen in her blood. Her condition was stabilized, and she was immediately taken by ambulance to a neighboring city’s hospital. There, doctors diagnosed a congenital heart defect—specifically Tetralogy of Fallot. Her heart cannot pump enough blood on its own. It was a shock, because nothing had hinted at trouble. The pregnancy had been wonderful, the delivery normal. And then the diagnosis. The little one was taken to the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery, where an urgent operation was performed to place a temporary anastomosis. Her condition improved a bit. The family went home, Ksenia began gaining weight and growing. And then the trials returned. Her torso started turning blue again. Another trip to Amosov, and the confirmation that this temporary anastomosis had to be replaced urgently with a permanent implant (a conduit).

Now the bad times are behind us, the girl's condition is good, and we firmly believe that only happiness, joy, and children's laughter will fill this family going forward.
