Evdokymchyk is only five years old, and he has already undergone two open‑heart surgeries. The boy has a disability. To fully heal little Evdokymchyk’s heart, it is urgently necessary to purchase two intracardiac implants (Andra stents); doctors recommend performing the operation as soon as possible and closing the heart defect – stenosis of the branches of the pulmonary artery. But for a woman from the village who raises two children on her own, the sum of 173 982 UAH is simply overwhelming… With the help of acquaintances she has managed to raise only 20 000 UAH.

A mother’s heart is torn with pain for her beloved son, who has been stubbornly fighting for his life since birth! Let’s join together to help Yevdokymchyk survive and save his little heart!

Letter from a mother:

We live in the Zakarpattia region, village Nyzhni Voryta, and we are reaching out to all caring people with a heartfelt request and hope for help to save my son’s life! He now needs two stents for his pulmonary artery, and we cannot afford them because they are far too expensive for our small, low‑income family. I am raising two children on my own. Their father left when my daughter was 4.5 years old and my son was 2. He does not pay alimony, and we survive on social assistance of 2 675 UAH, plus a pension for a disabled child and his care (1 957 UAH). I also have elderly parents, my mother is 73 and my father 77. They themselves need help, but from their meager pension they give me some money for the child’s treatment, and just to survive, to get the children to school and kindergarten.

Yevdokymchyk was born on 23 February 2012 with a severe congenital heart defect: type I and type II pulmonary artery atresia. MShP defect. We performed the first surgery after 2 days so the child could survive, and the second surgery when our son turned 1 year old. In addition, every year we travel to the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery in Kyiv for examinations and consultations, and we receive treatment at the Zakarpattia Regional Children's Hospital. Now our situation is this: if we undergo a third operation, the surgeon says it is very traumatic and there is a high chance the child will not survive it. If we do nothing, the child will live about another year, but if we place two stents in the pulmonary artery, it will give the child a chance to live and become more or less healthy and normal. Therefore we appeal to all caring people who can help raise these incredible funds. I can’t even imagine where one could earn such an amount; we have only 20 000 UAH, which is very, very little. So we have hope and a heartfelt request to help us save the life of our son, who is now 5 years and 7 months old. We will be waiting anxiously and praying for those who wish to help us. May God reward you abundantly for doing such a charitable and extremely important deed. Health, happiness, love to you!
