Vanya Andrusenko is doing well! The operation was very tough, but everything went successfully! Now the boy is already home and we are keeping our fingers crossed that everything continues to be fine.

Vani is only 9 years old, and he has already undergone two complex heart surgeries. The boy was born with a very severe congenital heart defect – type 2 pulmonary artery atresia with a ventricular septal defect and communicative MAPCAs. Vani has great difficulty breathing; the child cannot lead a normal life, he doesn’t even attend school, and he stays at home under a special program. The two performed surgeries gave results only for a limited time, so that the boy could continue a full life. A third operation was needed. But for this, a biological implant had to be urgently purchased, costing 214 000 UAH. The parents and relatives raised 50 000 UAH, but the remaining 164 500 UAH was an unbearable burden for the family.

It's wonderful that there are caring people who save children's lives.

Philanthropist and volunteer Kateryna Venzhyk, as part of the Change the World. Give Yours. project, helped the Ukrainian Charity Exchange raise the full amount for purchasing an implant for Vanya. On her birthday, Katia urged everyone to support the project on the UCE website https://ubb.org.ua/uk/ project/4632/ instead of gifts. And a miracle happened. The funds were collected and Vanya arrived at the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery.

The operation was very difficult, complex, and lengthy. Vanya spent almost a week in intensive care. And we are happy that everything went well! The boy received help and went home to recover.
