Zoryana Demianets

Zoryana is a little girl with such beautiful, yet very sad eyes… All because she urgently needs an operation to implant an intracardiac device (occluder), as she has a congenital heart defect – a secondary defect of the interatrial septum. These frightening words sounded like a verdict at a routine school medical examination, and later were confirmed at the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery.

If we don’t intervene in time, the defect will only worsen, negatively affecting the girl’s overall health and later potentially leading to heart failure in the child. Ironically, Zoryana attends a boarding school for children with cardiovascular diseases and rheumatism, but suffers from frequent colds and enlarged adenoids. Her mother works as a teacher and raises the girl on her own. With the help of kind people they managed to raise 30 000 UAH, but they cannot gather the remaining funds on their own. That’s why they are asking for help. Let’s together help Zoryana have a healthy heart!

Zoryana studies very well, recites poems beautifully, and takes part in various performances and clubs. She practiced dancing, but had to stop the lessons because of the diagnosed illness. Even in active games the child cannot participate due to a life‑threatening risk. Next year Zoryana will go into the sixth grade. Zoryana's mother has great hope that her daughter will already have a healthy heart, because she really wants to enjoy life to the fullest. The girl's mother works as a teacher and raises the child alone. With a single teacher's salary she will not be able to raise the funds for the operation.
