The 4‑year‑old Daryna urgently needs an operation to implant an occluder (intracardiac implant) because she has a congenital heart defect. She was discovered by chance; the child's constant URIs and ARIs prompted Dasha’s grandmother to bring her for examination at the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery. After thorough checks, the diagnosis was confirmed and they reported that without surgery the defect will not close on its own but will enlarge. This can lead to heart failure.

Daryna needs an intracardiac implant (occluder), which will make the girl’s heart completely healthy. But for the retired grandmother who raises Dasha, the sum of 69 657 UAH is unaffordable. The grandmother raises the girl alone because her daughter left the child in her care and went abroad to work. Dasha’s father is unknown; he lives in Montenegro and left the child only his surname. The girl’s mother calls and sends a small amount of money twice a year, barely enough to feed the child. The grandmother and the girl are in a very difficult situation. Purchasing an intracardiac implant on the grandmother’s pension is simply impossible, and there are no relatives who could help buy an occluder for Dasha. Therefore the grandmother appeals to all caring people to help her save the heart of her only and beloved granddaughter.

Dashenka is a cheerful and smart girl who loves playing with her peers and wants to take up dancing. However, her health condition prevents her from doing so. Let’s work together to make Darinka’s dream come true.
