A single mother of two children is reaching out with a request for help for her younger daughter Daryna! Already at the 20th week of pregnancy the baby was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect: a ventricular septal defect. After birth she was sent for examination to a cardio‑center, where the diagnosis was confirmed. The child has been monitored and examined annually. Although the defect was tiny, there was hope that it would close on its own, but the miracle did not happen.

On 11.06.2018, the little girl underwent a routine examination at the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery. The doctors said that the defect will not close on its own and may enlarge over the years, which in turn will affect the child's well‑being. There is no point in waiting any longer; the defect already prevents Daryna from living a full life. She dreams of dancing and attending physical education classes, but the doctors have not allowed it yet. Otherwise, her health will only deteriorate. Specialists at the Institute recommend an endovascular operation using an occluder. This will save Daryna's heart. However, the cost of the occluder is an unaffordable sum for the family!

With the help of relatives and close ones, the family collected 10 000 UAH; the rest of the amount cannot be obtained elsewhere. We ask all caring people to help the girl become healthy. Every hryvnia matters!
