How to share your birthday with two little hearts is something our philanthropist Svitlana Panaiotidi knows well. Svitlana raised 150 000 UAH on her birthday as part of the “Change the World. Give Yours.” project on the Ukrainian Charity Exchange website. The funds collected allowed the purchase of two heart implants for two girls who needed surgery – for the Kharkiv girl Vikusi and for Darina Tarasyuk.

Vikusi is 8 years old and she had a congenital heart defect – an open arterial duct. Darynka is 10 years old and she also had a congenital heart defect – also an open arterial duct. For families living in villages of the Rivne region, raising funds to save their daughters was simply impossible. But how wonderful that there are donors and simply caring people who are not indifferent to the fate of our children.

Thanks to Svitlana and her friends, two wonderful girls went home yesterday. Healthy and happy. A bright childhood lies ahead, without limits or suffering.
