Platon Perchuk's heart has been saved

Platosh is 5 years old. He is from the village of Shcherbany in the Poltava region. The parents learned about the child’s heart defect only recently, when they underwent a medical examination for the karate section. Platon was sent to the regional children’s hospital for a cardiology consultation. The examination diagnosed a congenital heart defect – an open arterial duct. At the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery, doctors confirmed that surgery is needed.

The cost of the implant turned out to be unaffordable for the family. The family is not wealthy, and they have two children. The father's income barely covers a family of four. The mother is currently not working, caring for the child.

Platosha is a smart and cheerful child. He dreams of doing sports. But his illness stands in the way.

The family reached out asking for help for their little son, and our longtime rescuers came to the aid.

Saved hearts of Roman Shnyt and Liliia Tronza

Once again, our regular partners – YBS International – are saving children's lives!

Since June of last year, the socially responsible company contributed more than 1.5 million UAH, helping to save the lives of 22 children.

The diagnosis of a congenital heart defect was made in Roman when he was six years old. At that time the boy was undergoing a medical examination at a sports dispensary. Concerned, his parents immediately turned to cardiothoracic surgeons for a more detailed assessment of their child. The doctors confirmed the presence of a patent arterial duct and advised that examinations be performed every six months. Unfortunately, the defect did not close on its own. Consequently, the physicians decided that surgery was necessary.

Liliia was born in Luhansk in 2014, when battles were raging over the city. At two months of age, her relatives evacuated the child from occupied Luhansk to Mykolaiv. Examination of the girl at three months revealed an open arterial duct measuring 2.5 mm. Doctors advised registering her for follow‑up and monitoring the course. Throughout this time the girl frequently fell ill with colds and viral infections and often felt weak. This year, during a scheduled check‑up, Liliia underwent an echocardiogram that showed no expected improvement in the closure of the heart defect. The cardiologist’s recommendation is surgical treatment and closure of the PDA with a coil.

Families of parents could not afford to purchase a heart implant and turned to our charitable foundation for help. In turn, we received assistance from our long‑standing partner, the charitable platform dobro.ua, and its patron – YBS International.

We are infinitely grateful that even during the full‑scale invasion we have the opportunity to save children’s lives!

Karina Tomashivska's heart has been saved ❤️

Karina is 12 years old. Her parents learned about her heart defect only recently. Lately, Karina has been constantly feeling tired and very weak. At first they thought it was just a transitional phase and that everything would eventually improve. But when the girl started having difficulty breathing, her parents decided to seek medical help.

During a cardiology consultation in Kamianets‑Podilskyi, the girl was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect – an open arterial duct.

Karina was advised to have the endovascular procedure as soon as possible, before any irreversible changes set in.

The family lives in the village of Boryshkivtsi, Khmelnytskyi region. The parents receive a minimum income. They live off the farm. Because of their financial situation, they were unable to purchase an implant.

Our regular donors came to help – the company YBS International ❤️ They made a huge contribution and an implant worth 110 852 UAH was purchased and installed by doctors at the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery.

Kristina Ivanyuk successfully underwent surgery.

Kristina was born with a complex congenital heart defect: right‑heart hypoplasia syndrome, type I pulmonary artery atresia. This defect requires staged surgical correction depending on the patient’s age and condition. The girl has already undergone two stages of surgery: the first intervention – placement of a Bleloka anastomosis at birth, and the second intervention – a Glenn operation at age 3.

To date, she required the next stage – a Fonten operation. During pre‑operative examinations, another congenital heart defect was discovered in Kristina: a patent ductus arteriosus. This defect significantly complicated the technical performance and duration of the open surgical intervention, so the decision was made to perform an endovascular closure of the patent ductus arteriosus with an occluder.

Having performed this operation, the surgeons were able to carry out the next stage of surgical correction – the Fontan operation. This operation is intended to improve quality of life and provides the possibility to extend the time until heart transplantation.

A mother raises her daughter on her own. The parents are divorced, and the father does not provide financial support to the family. Their budget is very modest and could not cover the cost of the occluder.

On October 22, Kristina underwent an endovascular operation.

Angelina Melnyk’s heart has been saved

Every child deserves a healthy and happy childhood. Thanks to your kind hearts, another little girl has received a chance to live fully.

At seven years old, Angelina already knows what struggle is. From birth, doctors identified a congenital heart defect in her, hoping it would fade over time. But that didn’t happen. Instead, the illness began to affect her daily life: weakness, labored breathing, and ordinary school lessons became almost unbearable for this active and inquisitive girl.

Doctors insisted on an urgent endovascular operation. But the cost of the occluder — 110 852 UAH — was unattainable for a family going through tough times. Angelina and her brother are being raised only by their mother, who, working in the construction and repair sector and supplementing her income by sewing clothes, does everything possible to provide for the children.

The story of Angelina had a happy ending thanks to the support of YBS International, which purchased an occluder and gave the girl a chance for a healthy future. The operation was successful, and now Angelina can return to her favorite activities and enjoy a carefree childhood.

Ameliia Khomenko's rescued heart

We are happy to share the news of the rescued life of little Ameliia Khomenko thanks to the charitable campaign Support Little Hearts by YBS International. This is already the 26th child who has received a chance for a healthy future thanks to the care of this incredible company.

YBS International has long been helping children with heart defects, financing heart surgeries and saving little lives. This charitable initiative, despite all challenges, continues to inspire and proves that even in the toughest times, goodness always prevails.

Amelia Khomenko was born prematurely on March 7, 2022 in the city of Chernihiv, during the toughest days of the full‑scale invasion. Her father, Khomenko Serhiy, defended the city as part of the local territorial defense and, unfortunately, was killed after being wounded during shelling. Two days after this tragic event, Amelia came into the world via a Caesarean section.

The first days of her life she spent in intensive care, and the following months in a bomb shelter at the maternity hospital together with her mother. Later, the child was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect—a patent arterial duct that required urgent surgery. Little Amelia often fell ill, experienced shortness of breath, and had limited activity. Without surgical intervention, the girl's condition could have worsened significantly.

Thanks to the contribution of YBS International, the necessary heart implant was purchased, and Amelia underwent a successful operation at the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery. Now she has a chance for a healthy and happy childhood!

Sofia's little heart has been saved

Sofiyka – 1 year and 10 months. A lively, active, curious girl who always strives to explore the world. But from birth she had a congenital heart defect – an open arterial duct.

At first there was hope that the situation would resolve on its own. But time passed, and Sofiika was not gaining weight and began falling behind in growth. In early 2025, doctors noted that the duct not only had not closed, but had enlarged. The child's health could be saved only by an urgent surgery to correct the heart defect.

The family's financial situation did not allow them to raise the necessary amount for purchasing a heart implant on their own. The father works as an engineer, the mother is on maternity leave, and a large portion of their income goes toward housing rent.

Two little girls — Oliviia from Odesa region and Liza from Chernihiv region — received the most precious gift: a healthy heart and new strength to live.

Oliviia Portala, 4 years

Her life has been a fight from the very first days. In the maternity hospital they immediately identified several serious diagnoses, including a heart defect. Despite the challenges, Oliviia meets each day’s hurdles: at three years old she took her first steps. But recently her condition worsened—the heart could no longer keep up, and postponing surgery became dangerous.

Since birth she lived with the hope that the heart defect would disappear on its own. But the diagnosis was confirmed, and an open arterial duct required intervention. Liza’s family is large, and the mother raises the children alone after losing her husband. In a difficult moment, help arrived exactly when it was most needed.

Bohdan Mocherniuk's saved heart

Bohdan from Chernivtsi is one of those children whose life and health are fought for every day.

The boy was born with a congenital heart defect. And when he was only two years old, he suffered a severe neuroinfection that caused paresis of his right hand. Since then his family lives in two parallel realities — constant rehabilitation and a fight for the most important thing: Bohdan’s healthy heart.

In the family there are three children, and all their physical, emotional and financial resources are devoted to Bohdanchyk’s recovery. The parents were unable to raise the funds for the heart implant needed for the operation on their own.

Saved heart of Milana Milchenko

Milantsi — 6 years old. She lives in the small village of Deykalivka in the Poltava region together with her parents and older brother. Cheerful, smart, curious — exactly the kind of child she should be.

But danger hid behind her smile. Milana has a congenital heart defect—a patent ductus arteriosus. Recently, worrisome symptoms have appeared: shortness of breath, weakness, a feeling of lacking air. The cardiologists were unanimous—the girl urgently needs surgery.

But the cost of the life‑saving implant, more than one hundred thousand UAH, was unaffordable for a family where both parents work at a rural school.

On June 3, 2025, Milani successfully performed an endovascular operation at the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery.

This became possible thanks to YBS International, which believed in her, supported her, and gave the girl a chance for a life without pain or limitations.

Sviatoslav Mykhaliuk’s rescued heart

Svyatoslav, born in 2017 in Lutsk, has been fighting for a full childhood since his first days of life. Even during pregnancy, doctors warned his mother about a possible congenital heart defect.

After birth, the diagnosis was confirmed: an atrial septal defect and coarctation of the aorta—a serious combination that required immediate treatment.

Already on the fifth day after the boy’s birth, he was sent to Kyiv for surgery. But at that time the parents were forced to decline — they didn’t have the funds for an occluder, without which the intervention was impossible.

Since then, years have passed under the constant care of cardiologists. Weakness, frequent illnesses, and limits on physical activity. Recently, Sviatoslav’s condition began to deteriorate sharply: shortness of breath and a rapid heartbeat.

Doctors from the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery insisted: the operation is needed urgently to avoid irreversible complications.

The Mykhaliuk family has four sons. Their parents work every day to provide everything their children need. But raising the money for the implant on their own was impossible.

And right there, a miracle happened.

Saved heart of Vladyslav Skalatskyi

In August, Vladyslav from the Vinnytsia region will turn 17. Since childhood the boy often fell ill—viral infections, bronchitis, attacks of bronchial asthma. But he never complained about his heart.

Everything changed in adolescence, when dizziness, a rapid heartbeat, and blood pressure spikes began. Examination showed that Vladyslav has a congenital heart defect that requires urgent intervention.

The boy’s family lives very modestly. His mother works as a nurse, his father is already retired. In addition to Vladyslav, they care for an older son with cerebral palsy and an elderly grandmother. The family had no money to purchase a heart implant.

Sofii Hryshynyi's rescued heart

Sofia from Kryvyi Rih – 18 years old. Since childhood the girl has had many health problems: frequent viral infections, bronchitis, asthma attacks. But she never complained about her heart.

Everything changed in her teenage years. Sofia began to lose consciousness, feel a racing heartbeat, and experience sudden spikes in blood pressure. After examinations, doctors diagnosed a congenital heart defect—a secondary atrial septal defect measuring 1.6 cm. The girl's heart was working under double load, and the physicians emphasized that without surgery there is a risk of serious complications.

For the family, the cost of a modern implant was unaffordable. The mother—a teacher who raises two children on her own and helps an elderly grandmother with cancer. But despite the difficulties, Sofia remained dreamy, kind, and believed in a better future.

September 16, 2025 became the day that changed her life. At the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery, doctors successfully performed an endovascular operation to close the heart defect. The implant, costing 140 598 UAH, was purchased thanks to the help of YBS International.

Today Sofia's heart beats steady and confident. And in her future, new dreams and plans have emerged, made possible by humanity and business support.

Alisia Hurska's saved heart

Alisia Hurska from the Mykolaiv region is a lively, curious little girl. Recently, doctors discovered she has a congenital heart defect, and her family heard the words every parent fears: the child needs an urgent operation.

Alisia’s mother recently completed combat medic courses and joined the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to save the lives of our defenders in the Marine Infantry. At this time, her daughter and son stayed at home with their father and grandmother.

Dad works in construction, and his modest salary is enough only for the essentials. The family couldn’t afford to pay for the implant for their daughter on their own.

But a miracle happened. Doctors successfully performed an endovascular operation to close Alisiia’s congenital heart defect at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery named after M. M. Amosov. The implant, costing 140 598 UAH, was purchased thanks to a charitable contribution from YBS International, which has already saved 28 children with heart defects, and the total of its monthly charitable donations has exceeded 2.9 million UAH.

The operation saved Alisia’s little heart, giving her the chance to live without pain, to run, to laugh and to dream.

Yaryna Milashova’s rescued heart

Yaryna is a lively, curious, and very energetic girl. She loves music, adores dancing, and gladly performs at every school celebration. But behind her bright smile, a problem lingered for a long time, preventing her from living life to the fullest.

This year, while preparing for a scheduled adenoid removal surgery, doctors accidentally discovered that the girl had a congenital heart defect – an open arterial duct. The opening was quite large – over 4 mm. That’s why Yaryna quickly became tired, fell behind in her dance classes, and often felt short‑of‑breath.

The only path to a healthy future was an endovascular operation. But for a large family with three children, the cost of the implant was unaffordable.

Doctors detected the congenital heart defect already during pregnancy. After birth, the condition was complicated by pulmonary artery stenosis with a critically high gradient. In the first months of Daryna’s life, balloon dilatation was performed twice. The child was constantly under the care of cardiologists.

Congenital heart defects are one of those problems that aren’t always immediately visible, yet can shape a child’s entire future. For many families in Ukraine, this diagnosis becomes not only a major emotional trial but also a complex financial challenge—especially when a child’s rescue depends on a timely surgery and an expensive implant.

That’s why the support of donors is not just a contribution. It is a real opportunity for children to receive treatment at the moment when waiting is no longer possible.

Alice Prystupa, born 2023, Chernihiv region.

Even in the maternity hospital, during an ultrasound of the newborn Alisa’s heart, doctors discovered an open arterial duct. The family was reassured at the time, as sometimes such a defect can close on its own. But over time it became clear that this had not happened. Soon after birth, Alisa was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia and underwent treatment for almost a month. During additional examinations, doctors again confirmed the heart defect, and there were no positive changes.

In December 2024, during a consultation at the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery, doctors recommended performing an operation—closure of the ductus arteriosus using a special implant. The family even traveled for the surgery, but the procedure had to be postponed: the girl fell ill with a respiratory infection on the way.

For the family, purchasing the implant on their own was extremely difficult. Alisa’s mother is on maternity leave, and her father is a serviceman in the National Guard of Ukraine. The family’s income is enough only for basic needs.

Yana Savchuk, born 2017, Rivne region.

Yana's heart defect was detected two years ago during an examination at the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery. The only way to help the girl was to perform an endovascular intervention and close the defect using a special implant – an occluder. For Yana's family, such an operation was very financially challenging. Her mother works and receives a minimum salary. Her father is a combat veteran who, because of the consequences of the war, has health problems and has received a disability.

Today we celebrate together with two families, for whom these surgeries have become a chance for peace, recovery, and a healthy future for their children.

And it happened thanks to our steadfast donors – YBS International. We sincerely thank you for the support that saves children’s hearts. Because of you, two more children received timely, necessary treatment, and their families found hope and relief.

A rescued heart for Sylas Zvarich

Sailas from the Vinnytsia region has been under a cardiologist’s care since early childhood because of a congenital heart defect. His condition was monitored for a long time, and doctors tracked its progress to choose the optimal moment for intervention.

After a routine examination in Kyiv, specialists recommended performing a defect‑closure operation using an occluder – a modern method that does not require open surgical intervention and allows a significantly shorter recovery period.

For the family it was a difficult decision, especially because of the financial aspect. Saylasa is being raised by her mother, who works but has a minimal income. She could not afford to purchase the implant on her own.

On April 28, 2026, the operation was successfully performed. The required occluder, costing 56 700 UAH, was purchased thanks to the support of our regular donor – YBS International, which consistently helps children with heart defects.

Another story where the decision was made in time—and the child gained the chance to live without limits.

Kira Voznyuk’s Saved Heart

Every year in Ukraine, thousands of children are born with congenital heart defects. For many of them, the chance for a healthy life comes from a timely operation and a small cardiac implant – an occluder.

These procedures are performed without open‑heart surgery: through the vessels, doctors place an implant that closes the defect. Within a few days, the child can return home. However, there is a major problem – the operation requires an expensive occluder, which not all Ukrainian families can afford to purchase on their own.

For several years now, the company YBS International has stood beside these children and their families. Our partner consistently supports the program that helps children with congenital heart defects and each month helps cover the cost of cardiac implants for young patients.

This time help was needed for little Kira Voznyuk from the Kyiv region. The girl was diagnosed with a patent arterial duct. Doctors recommended performing the operation as quickly as possible to prevent complications.

The family has two daughters – 9‑year‑old Amina and 1‑year‑old Kira. Mom is currently on maternity leave, and dad works as a construction engineer. The cost of the implant needed for the younger daughter was 127 116 UAH, and the family could not raise that amount on its own.

Thanks to YBS International, the required occluder for Kira was purchased, and on August 18 the girl successfully underwent surgery. Now another little heart has the chance to grow healthy.
