The goal of the campaign was to raise funds for the purchase of intracardiac implants (occluders) to treat children with congenital heart defects. For each unit of product sold during the period from 1.03.2016 to 30.04.2016, the brands “START” and “AXA” in METRO shopping centers, the company Lantmannenn Ukraine transferred one hryvnia toward the purchase of intracardiac implants (occluders) at the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery for operating on children's hearts. As a result of the campaign we managed to collect 190 434 UAH and purchase two occluders, which means saving two little hearts! Thanks to the “Hearts of the Future” campaign we were able to help Dmytro Makhin (15 years old; Kyiv) and Daryna Levshyi (2.5 years old; Sumy region, Putyvl).
Parents of the children, and the children themselves, did not believe that they would receive help to pay for the expensive but life‑essential implants. Now these children will be able to live a healthy, full life! On June 14, 2016, representatives of the company “Lantmännen Ukraine” visited the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery, delivered the implants, and also talked with the children and their parents after the operation.
Future Hearts Charity Foundation, cardiac surgeons, as well as parents and children from the bottom of their hearts thank the companies “Lantmenen Ukraine” and “Metro Cash & Carry Ukraine” and their staff for organizing the campaign. A huge thank you for remembering to care for and help children who need assistance. Thank you for saving children’s lives, for your priceless contribution to a healthy future for children and the development of modern medicine.
And we also express a special thanks to everyone who supported the campaign – buyers of the “AHA” and “START” products. Thanks to you, we were able to save two children’s hearts. A huge thank you for your responsiveness, your care for sick children, and your trust in us.
