"Saving Children's Hearts" – a social project of Yunik Trade aimed at rescuing children with heart defects. The company strives to save children's hearts from serious illness. Children are love, and every child deserves a happy and healthy childhood. Yunik Trade allocates funds from its monthly turnover to purchase implants – occluders. Our staff join the project by making voluntary contributions.

Thanks to the “Saving Children’s Hearts” project, children with congenital heart defects have the chance to recover and live full, healthy lives. Our charitable foundation is a partner of this project.

All adults were once children, and by saving children's hearts together, we all follow the call of our own heart.

The economic situation in the country is extremely tense. Everyone is uniting in the fight against the invisible enemy known to all. All resources are being directed toward equipping hospitals with necessary equipment. But while we are all battling this single foe, we have completely forgotten that children who were ill before the virus appeared and after it was overcome will still be sick. They, as always, need support. In just one year, almost 5,000 children with congenital heart defects are born in Ukraine. Thousands of them could have their lives saved without even touching the vital organ – the heart. A child who can receive a cardiac implant endovascularly (without opening the chest) and have the heart defect permanently corrected will be discharged from the hospital after three days with a diagnosis of “healthy.” However, the state lacks the funds to provide all children with free implants. And low‑income families do not have 100,000 UAH to purchase one. Only thanks to caring companies and donors do we have a chance to give children a healthy heart and a disease‑free future.

Despite the difficult situation in the country, a wonderful company – Unik Trade – has joined us, taking on a huge mission: rescuing babies whose parents cannot afford to purchase an expensive implant. Every month the company allocates funds from its monthly turnover to purchase implants – occluders. Employees of Unik Trade also join the project by making voluntary contributions.

A huge desire to help, the kind heart of the owner Serhiy Sydoruk and all the staff have already accomplished the first great deed! Meet Khrystynochka Huz from the Chernihiv region in the photo. The little girl is only 2.5 years old, and her heart required an urgent operation to correct a defect (interventricular septal defect) that prevented her from living normally, growing, running, playing with peers, and led to constant illnesses. The best professionals in their field – doctors of the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery – performed a successful operation within a few hours, and yesterday the little one was already discharged from the clinic!

Such collaboration inspires, gives hope, and shows that only together can we support our children, their families, and help fight the invisible enemy, regardless of all obstacles.

Maksym Mikhaylov's heart has been saved!

Good deeds should be spoken out loud, because they not only inspire caring people and companies, but also give hope to ordinary families who find themselves in difficult life circumstances. Our partner, Unik Trade, within its own social project “Saving Children’s Hearts,” allocates funds from its monthly turnover to purchase implants—occluders. Since the beginning of autumn, a second child has already gained the chance to live a full life with a healthy heart. At the start of last month, the heart of little Khrystyna Guz from the Chernihiv region was operated on, and this week Maksym Mykhailov from the Vinnytsia region received assistance.

Maksym is now 10 years old, but the terrible diagnosis – a congenital heart defect consisting of an open atrial septal defect, a patent arterial duct, and a ventricular septal defect – was made on the fourth day of his life. This news shocked the young couple. A year later the father left the family, and the mother was left alone with her son. At a follow‑up examination at the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery, the mother and son heard hopeful news that two of the defects had closed on their own. However, the ventricular septal defect (a 6 mm opening) still needs to be closed by surgery to place an implant. The mother had no money to save her son's life. She works at a market and pays all the bills herself. The father takes no part in their lives.

Since there were no funds to purchase a heart implant for the mother who raises her son on her own, Maksym's mother turned to us right after the doctors examined Maksym and strongly recommended that the operation not be delayed, because her son's condition was becoming increasingly unstable.

Thanks to Unik Trade, this week Maksym underwent surgery to implant a cardiac device, so the danger is now behind him. From now on, Maksym will be able to lead a normal life like all other children and will grow up without heart problems. For the boy who will become his mother’s pillar in the future, this is an incredibly important thing.

Valentyna Kukurichka's heart has been saved

It's already a wonderful tradition and our beloved news about children's saved hearts. Our partner and a company with a big heart – Unik Trade – for the third time gave a healthy life to a child. This time, 11‑year‑old Valentyno from the city of Mukachevo in the Zakarpattia region received help.

He was born with a congenital heart defect – a secondary defect of the atrial septum. During a medical examination, doctors found a 10 mm hole in Valentyno’s heart. This means his heart does not function normally. As side effects of the disease, the boy is constantly ill, tires very quickly, sweats, and it is frightening to even talk about early pulmonary hypertension. This defect caused a severe complication not only to the child’s overall condition but also to his lungs. A single mother could not afford a cardiac implant to save her son’s life.

Yunik Trade came to the aid with their charitable initiative “Saving Children’s Hearts”. The company allocates funds from its monthly turnover for the purchase of implants – occluders. And the third child who received assistance was Valentyno.

Our joy knows no bounds! After all, Valentino’s operation has already been performed, he feels wonderful, and together with cardiothoracic surgeon Bohdan Cherpak he sends greetings to his rescuers.

Ihor Myroshnychenko's heart saved

Yunik Trade has already saved 4 children with congenital heart defects. As part of its own charitable project “Saving Children’s Hearts,” the company allocates funds from its monthly turnover to purchase implants—occluders. The assistance goes to children from low‑income families who cannot afford to buy implants for surgeries on their children’s hearts.

The next patient who successfully underwent surgery at the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery was Myroshnychenko Ihor from the city of Kropyvnytskyi. The boy is 17 years old, and he was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect — an atrial septal defect. Ihor has been involved in sports all his life and felt well. But at one point he felt pain in his heart. During the examination, doctors shocked his mother with the news that an urgent operation to implant a cardiac device and correct the defects was needed. For the single mother, who works as a social worker and raises two sons, it was like a thunderbolt from a clear sky. Raising the necessary funds in a short time to save the older son's life was simply beyond her means and strength. There's no need to even imagine how this story could have ended.

How wonderful it is to have our donors by our side—people with big hearts and souls open to the grief of others.

As soon as we reached out to Unik Trade, the CEO of the company, Sydoruk Serhiy, sprang into action at that very moment. The charitable assistance saved the boy’s life, and now he is healthy and can live a full, fulfilling life.

A heart has been saved – Bilyachat Yany

Our long‑standing benefactor, Unik Trade, saved five children with congenital heart defects as part of its own social project “Saving Children’s Hearts”!

The fifth child to join our care is Bilyachat Yanochka (11 years old) from the village of Slohyny, Sambir district, Lviv region. Yanochka was born a healthy baby (at least, that’s what her parents thought). But from early childhood doctors began detecting various illnesses in her: stenosing laryngotracheobronchitis, frequent anginas, chronic tonsillitis. At school the girl could not tolerate the physical‑education lessons because of heavy breathing. Her blood pressure rose and she got headaches, so Yana had long been excused from activities. After another examination, doctors discovered the cause of her poor well‑being: a congenital heart defect – an open arterial duct, a hole in the heart measuring 3.5 mm. This diagnosis stunned the family, and the news that surgery was needed and the cost of the implant… left them without hope.

Every year in Ukraine about 600 children need urgent heart surgeries to correct congenital heart defects with implants. Almost all of them are children whose parents cannot afford these life‑saving heart implants for their daughters and sons. An amount of roughly one hundred thousand hryvnias sounds like a death sentence for an ordinary Ukrainian family. Moreover, this year the state has completely exhausted the funding program for purchasing heart implants. That’s when philanthropists step in, refusing to leave children and their families in distress.

Fortunately, there is a company Unik Trade, which together with the CEO of the company Sidoruk Serhiy launched the social project “Saving Children’s Hearts” last year. Charitable funds from this company helped to promptly and very quickly purchase an implant, and doctors of the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery performed an operation to correct the defect for Yanochka.

Now all heart problems are left in the past, and the girl can live a full life. This is great happiness and another incredible story of saving a life!

Heart saved for Plastun Nasti

Another happy rescue story. It happened thanks to our charitable partners – Unik Trade.

Little one-and-a-half‑year‑old Nastia from the village of Dilove, Zakarpattia region, needed an urgent endovascular operation to correct a heart defect – a patent arterial duct. Two heart defects were detected at birth, but over time one closed on its own. The other, however, worsened and the opening in the heart grew to 3.2 mm. This is a very large opening for such a tiny heart. The operation had to be performed urgently, as the consequences could have been catastrophic.

Nastia's family is large, lives in a village, and has not been able to raise the funds on their own to purchase a heart implant.

Help came from Unik Trade, which together with the company's CEO Sydoruk Serhiy launched the social project “Saving Children’s Hearts” last year. To date, the company has already saved 6 children with heart defects.

Thanks to the contribution from the company, we were able to promptly purchase a heart implant and the cardiac surgeons at the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery performed a successful operation. Now the defect is closed and the family can stop worrying about their daughter's little heart.

Saved the heart of Dmytro Tarlovskyi

Recently a family reached out to us in desperation. Their little son needed an urgent heart operation. This wonderful child has already endured many hardships in life, has a disability, and also a congenital heart defect—a secondary defect of the interatrial septum that had to be corrected immediately. Dimochka’s parents could not afford to purchase a cardiac implant on their own. Only the father works in the household. The mother is constantly by the boy’s side, and the family’s funds are sufficient only for utilities, food, and medication purchases, especially since another child is also growing up in the family.

Fortunately, there are philanthropists who are always nearby and can support you in the toughest moment.

Company Unik Trade came to Dima’s aid, and together with the company’s CEO Sidoruk Serhiy launched the social project “Saving Children’s Hearts” last year. To date, the company has already saved 7 children with heart defects.

Doctors at the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery successfully performed the operation and implanted a heart device, and now the serious heart defect will no longer hinder Dima.

Denys Vasilenko's heart has been saved

Unik Trade, which together with the company’s CEO Sidoruk Serhiy launched the social project “Saving Children’s Hearts” last year, has already saved eight children with heart defects.

This time the help went to little 6‑year‑old Denis from the town of Karlivka in the Poltava region. The boy was born with a congenital heart defect – a patent arterial duct. Denis was born with low weight, and his heart defect prevented him from living a full life. He tired quickly, could not play with his peers, and suffered from constant respiratory illnesses. The heart defect needed urgent correction, but the parents had no funds to purchase the implant. Only the father works in the family, and his earnings are insufficient even for basic living expenses and utility bills. The parents appealed for assistance from caring people.

Fortunately, we are always accompanied by wonderful companies that embrace corporate social responsibility and support those who are facing the greatest challenges right now.

The company Yunik Trade made a charitable contribution that fully covered the purchase of the implant, and this week Denys already underwent surgery at the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery.

Nikita was born a healthy child. In February 2021 the boy was admitted to the Poltava Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital with a diagnosis of “dolichomegacolon”. The doctors then performed a full examination of the child, including heart studies, which revealed that Nikita had a congenital heart defect – an interatrial septal defect.

Later the family was referred to the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery, where the capital’s doctors confirmed the boy’s diagnosis and determined that surgery to correct the defect was necessary. The operation will be performed free of charge, but a special cardiac implant needs to be purchased. Thanks to the help of Unik Trade and the social project “Saving Children’s Hearts,” Nikita’s heart was saved; surgeons at the Amosov Institute successfully performed the operation and implanted the cardiac device.
