Hearts Charity Evening 2018
One evening that will already change the destinies of nearly 50 children with congenital heart defects
6 December YPO Kiev Chapter, law firm “Alekseev, Boyarchuk and Partners” in cooperation with an initiative group of businessmen, representatives of the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery and the Ukrainian Charity Exchange, held the third charity evening Hearts Charity Evening, on which they raised 4 183 566 UAH. ️
Every year in Ukraine, 5,000 children are born with congenital heart defects. Their lives can be transformed by a heart operation that implants a cardiac device (occluder). An occluder procedure—whether called a procedure or an operation—is a treatment for heart defects of varying complexity in both adults and children, performed without surgery and with a rapid, 100 % return to a full, normal life for the patient. In just 2–3 days, the children forget that their heart ever hurt.
In the autumn of 2016 and the winter of 2017, within the framework of the charitable dinner Hearts Days Night and Hearts Charity Evening for children with congenital heart defects, 510,410 UAH and 2,393,306 UAH were raised to purchase cardiac implants (occluders). Compassionate people who responded to the call for help were able to make children with heart conditions completely healthy and give them the chance to live a full life. The implants purchased with the donations allowed 38 children to quickly get back on their feet, avoid major surgical operations, and lengthy rehabilitation.
This year, a record amount has been raised, which will allow us to save the hearts of even more children ❤️
