This year ATLANT-Ukraine will greet our clients and partners with a New Year celebration that’s a little out of the ordinary. After all, none of you will receive a standard corporate gift with our logo! Instead, we’ll give you faith in a brighter future and warmth in the soul, and to the 11‑year‑old boy Serhii – a new heart.

After all, we redirected the budget allocated for New Year’s corporate gifts to purchase an occluder, so we could perform surgery on a boy with a congenital heart defect. Raising such money for his single mother is practically impossible. We thank all our clients and partners from the bottom of our hearts for making a priceless New Year’s gift to Seryozha together with us. Here we wanted to write “He dreamed of this all year,” but in reality, his whole life.

Until the age of 11, Serhiyko and his mother lived unaware of the boy’s grim diagnosis: a congenital heart defect – an open arterial duct. Serhiyko frequently suffered from bronchitis, pneumonia, and high fevers. He spent time in hospitals, underwent countless tests and examinations, and no doctor suspected a heart disease in the boy. It wasn’t until he began complaining of rapid fatigue after riding his bicycle and felt his heart beating faster that his mother took him to Kyiv, to the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery, where Serhiyko learned his diagnosis. At 11 years old, a period of intensive growth, the defect will only enlarge, potentially leading to heart failure. Serhiyko needs an urgent operation to implant an internal cardiac device. The surgery itself is free, but the cost of the heart implant (the spiral), which is 37 000 UAH, is unaffordable for the Pozharskykh family. Since Serhiyko’s father died when the boy was only three, his mother raises him alone, and there is no one to help her.
