Children of Peace

On 01.04.2015, the charitable campaign called “Children of Peace” concluded, which took place thanks to SC Johnson and the Watsons perfume store chain, with the support of the Future Hearts Charity Foundation.

The goal of the “Children of Peace” program was to raise funds for the purchase of implants (occluders) for pediatric heart surgeries. For each sold unit of Glade refresher in the Watsons chain, SC Johnson donated one hryvnia toward the purchase of implants (occluders) for the State Institution Scientific and Practical Center of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the State Institution Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

Based on the results of the campaign, SC Johnson was able to purchase three occluders, which means saving three human lives. Thanks to the campaign we were able to help Olia Guz (19, city of Ovrych), Sofiyka Nepochatova (8, city of Novhorod‑Volynskyi) and Polynochka Dryza (1 year old, city of Mykolaiv). The children’s parents and the children themselves could not believe that in such a difficult time they could obtain the expensive yet life‑saving implants. Now these children can live healthy lives: take part in sports, play games, and in the future even have children of their own. In gratitude to SC Johnson and the Watsons perfume‑store chain, the children created touching posters, and Olia Guz handcrafted two dough paintings. In the Zhytomyr region Olha took first place in the competition of works.

Future Hearts charity foundation, the cardiac surgeons, parents and children wholeheartedly thank SC Johnson and Watsons, as well as the staff of the companies for organizing, participating and providing assistance in carrying out the event. A huge thank you to SC Johnson and Watsons for the lives of children saved, for your priceless contribution to making a child’s dream come true – to be healthy!
